Minshu Deng is a Research & Modeling Manager at Energy Innovation, focused on the organization’s Modeling and Analysis Program. She provides research and analysis to support EI’s climate policy modeling. Her research has been published in Environmental Science and Technology.

Before joining EI, Minshu was an environmental scientist at Eastern Research Group, Inc. , a firm covering a broad range of environmental services including regulatory support and communications strategy for federal and state agencies. She worked on several notable projects, including the Gulf of Mexico restoration plan following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, data management for emissions inventories, and research on environmental and health risks to vulnerable populations. Apart from her time at ERG, she also conducted research on the effects of early nuclear power plant shutdowns, which has been cited in the New York Times and other major media outlets.

Minshu has a Master of Environmental Management with a specialization in energy systems from the Yale School of the Environmental and a B.A. in environmental science and policy from Duke University. As a student, she supported businesses on their emissions reduction strategies and spent time abroad with organizations in India, Jordan, and Rwanda working on sustainable energy and climate solutions.
