Statement from Energy Innovation CEO Hal Harvey on Sonia Aggarwal's appointment to serve as a climate policy advisor in the Biden administration.

Energy Innovation Vice President Sonia Aggarwal has been appointed to serve the Biden administration in the White House Office of Domestic Climate Policy. The following statement on her appointment is attributable to EI CEO Hal Harvey

In an announcement that augurs well for climate, the Biden Administration has recruited Sonia Aggarwal to be Senior Advisor to the President for Climate Policy and Innovation, working in the White House with Gina McCarthy’s team.

We are incredibly proud that Sonia is taking this on. She is uniquely well-suited for the job, with a deep and practical understanding of energy and climate policy, an engineer’s talent for understanding energy technology, an academic background covering power systems planning amongst other subjects, a commitment to working people, and a great network of experts and officials to work with.

On a personal note, I have had the pleasure of working with Sonia for nearly 15 years, and I know she is among the most dedicated, smartest, kindest, and humble people in our field. Join me in wishing her well—and using this historic moment to drive serious change.
