The Louisiana Governor’s Office, the Water Institute of the Gulf, and nonpartisan think tank Energy Innovation present on the launch of the Louisiana Energy Policy Simulator (EPS) and its modeling of how potential climate policies could cut greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening the state’s economy and generating health and other community benefits. During this webinar, experts at the Water Institute share how they are supporting the Governor’s Office in managing a one-year planning process to develop the state’s first-ever climate action plan. The process is using the Louisiana EPS to forecast consequences, leading to policies and decisions that are grounded in sound science and data. Energy Innovation modelers also provide a demonstration of the new tool’s capabilities and explain why their research shows adopting stronger climate policies is likely to add nearly $30 billion to the state’s economy by 2030.
