Mikala Hughes is Energy Innovation’s Executive Assistant. Prior to joining Energy Innovation, Mikala spent three years in the admissions department of a San Francisco-based higher education institution, where she worked closely with the Vice President and Director of Admissions to execute effective training strategies and assist students with pursuing their educational goals. As Art Director and Assistant Studio Manager for a leading photography studio in the Bay Area, she aided in the research for, and creation of, a highly successful workshop series that is now taught annually at Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, one of the largest annual photography conventions in the U.S. She is slated to graduate summa cum laude with her A.A. in Anthropology in spring 2018 from Berkeley City College, and will begin her B.A. degree in Anthropology with minors in Human Rights and Public Policy in fall 2018. Mikala is a current member of more than 11 different anthropological organizations including the American Anthropological Association (AAA), the Council on Anthropology and Education (CAE), the Anthropology and Environment Society (AES), the Association for Political and Legal Anthropology (APLA), and the Association of Indigenous Anthropologists (AIA).
